PUBG Mobile releases new items, loot locations, and themed modes about every two months. The upcoming update has a futuristic feel, as the Evolving Universe theme mode redesigns houses with a fresh look and brighter colors. Many players have already explored the beta version, which introduced several new features, including the Energy Shield, Floating Thruster, and new hot drop locations. The update will be released on 12 March, as the release date has been announced.
When did the update roll out?
The developers haven’t announced the official release date yet. However, based on previous update patterns, we expect it to arrive in the second week of next month. Some sources suggest March 12, but we’ll need to wait for official confirmation before treating that date as final.
Key Features and Theme Mode
This update fixed some crucial bugs and improved overall gameplay and performance, especially on low-end devices. Apart from this, new Themed items and equipment are added to give a fresh look to existing gameplay. Let’s explore in detail.
New Evolving Universe Mode
This update replaces Primewoord Genesis with the new Evolving Universe theme mode, which will run for about two months. It introduces fresh items, weapons, and equipment. Like the previous version, hot drops will appear in four locations: Mylta, Pochinki, Hospital, and Mansion. When you enter these special zones, a button appears on the right side of your screen. Tapping it activates a small shield that protects you from enemy damage for a few seconds.

At the start of each match, you can choose from different skill paths, including Healing Specialization, Detection Specialization, Vehicle Specialization, and Recon Specialization. Each skill has a rank system: A, B, C, and S. The skills you select will also appear as icons in the kill feed.
The so-called “Batch 22” items, not the official name, will spawn randomly during matches. Once activated, they create a protection shield for 15 seconds. You and your teammates can step inside it to avoid taking damage.
Vehicle garages now have a redesigned look. After obtaining a vehicle, you will see a customization option that lets you install nitro boosters on the sides. These boosters increase speed and can push the vehicle up to around 170 km/h.

The BRDM-2 has been fully redesigned into a tank-style vehicle named Tracked Amphicarrier. It is more powerful, allows players to fire from the top, and reaches speeds of about 90 km/h.

A new race track has been added near Georgopol. You can challenge your friends to a race there, and once you complete it, you’ll receive loot as a reward.
The Hospital has been rebuilt with updated colors and a refreshed design. When you enter the building, your health restores automatically. Mansion has also received long-overdue improvements. It now features a modern look with a more polished interior layout.
Beyond the gameplay changes, the developers have also redesigned the overall game interface. In the beta version, the UI mainly featured white elements on a black background. Now, the profile section looks more organized, cleaner, and easier to navigate.
Conclusion
PUBG is currently rolling out new features and upcoming changes in the beta version. You can download it and play for free on your phone. Keep in mind that not all features will look the same, and some may not be added to the final stable release. You can try them out and share your feedback with the developers.
